Spring Birding in Central Park

On Sunday, May 10, Dr. Bert Harris led us on a walk bright and early in Central Park to view the spring migrants. Highlights included a Baltimore Oriole, Cape May and Red-Bellied Woodpecker. For a complete list of the bird’s we saw, check out the link here.

Bert Harris is a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University. He completed his B.S. at Sewanee: The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee and his Ph.D. at the University of Adelaide in Australia. Dr. Harris has traveled across the world seeing a third of the world’s bird species including some really difficult and spectacular ones like the Victoria Crowned Pigeon and Wilson’s Bird of Paradise.
