Star-Gazing Walk in Prospect Park

On Friday, May 8 Brooklyn’s Friendly Neighborhood Astronomer, Irene Pease, took us out to view the night sky in Prospect Park. Moving her large, self-built telescope on a dolly, she showed us the effects that light pollution has on viewing the constellations in different areas of the park. We learned about the origins of the constellations and the various types of light pollution. For more pictures from the event, look here.
