4th Annual Canoeing Trip on the Delaware Water Gap

On Saturday, July 18, The Metropolitan Society of Natural Historians gathered for our 4th and last annual canoe trip to the Delaware Water Gap. We traveled 10 miles from Bushkill to Smithfield Beach enjoying a warm and sunny day on the river. We saw some exciting birds including several Bald Eagles, Canadian Geese, Cedar Waxwings and a Great Blue Heron as well as an abundance of damselflies, water striders, whirligig beetles and a large dobsonfly. A special thank you to all who attended.
